Gulf Stone Company Opened in Sohar

SOHAR – An RO 6 million project of the Gulf Stone Company was opened at Sohar Industrial

Estate by Mohammed bin Nasser al Khusaibi, Secretary-General

of the Ministry of National Economy, yesterday.

The function was attended by Maqbool bin Ali Sultan, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and

Darwish bin Ismail al Balushi, Secretary-

General of the Ministry of Finance.

Al Khusaibi said that the plant would help in boosting the industrial development in the country.

The manufacturing sector has been contributing to the gross domestic product over the years.

The government has been taking measures to develop the industrial sector, which is expected to

contribute

immensely in the coming years.

Maqbool, who also addressed the gathering, said that the industrial sector has achieved tremendous

progress.

Ahmed bin Mohammed al Rasbi, Chairman of Gulf Stone , said that it is the only project of its kind

pro-ducing high quality quartz tiles in the entire Arab region
